Bring the appliance to working position
- secure it, if required, with parking
brakes.

Insert the suction hose into the suction
hose connection.

Attach the desired accessoried to the
suction hose.

Ensure that the vacuum material con-
tainer has been inserted properly.

Warning

The highest allowed net impedance at the
electrical connection point (refer to techni-
cal specifications) is not to be exceeded.
In case of confusion regarding the power
impedance present on your connection,
please contact your utilities provider.

Insert the appliance plug into the mains
socket.

Turn the On/Off switch to "1".

For IV 100/75, press "Switch-on appli-
ance" switch.

There is a manometer on the front side of
the appliance; this indicates the suction un-
der-pressure in the device. If the suction
pressure fall below the value given in the
table below you need to switch off the ma-
chine and clean the filter.

Switch off the appliance using the On/
Off switch.

Tilt the fastener for filter dedusting to-
wards the side.

Move forcefully the handle for filter de-
dusting in an upward and downward di-
rection.

Place the fastener for filter dedusting in
a vertical position.

Press the "Switch off appliance" switch.

Move the lever for cleaning the filter
back and forth a couple of tomes.

If this cleaning does not bring about any im-
provement, then remove the filter and wash
it or replace it (see chapter "Replacing the
filter").

Caution
Please note the following when switch-
ing from wet to dry vacuum cleaning:
If you vacuum dry dust while the filter ele-
ment is still wet the filter will become ob-
structed and may be damaged beyond
repair.

Dry the wet filter properly before use or
replace it with a dry one.

Change the filter, if required, according
to instructions under the section "Main-
tenance and Care".

Note
For sucking in wet substances, the vacu-
uming material container available in the
standard model must be replaced with a
"container for wet and dry vacuuming" that
is available as an accessory.
The floater switch in the container for wet
and dry vacuuming interrupts the suction
flow when the maximum filling level is
reached.
When the suction flow is interrupted by the
floater switch:

Switch off IV 100/40 or IV 100/55 at the
ON/OFF switch.
For IV 100/75, press "Switch-off appli-
ance" switch.

Drain off the liquids by opening the
drain valve located at the base of the
container.
