6.1 Mac OS X 6
6 Installation on Macintosh Computers
This chapter describes the settings necessary when using Macintosh and the procedure for installing printer
drivers for Macintosh.

The screens for bizhub PRESS C7000/C7000P/C6000/C70hc and bizhub PRO C6000L are used here
for explanations.
6.1 Mac OS X
This machine supports the PS Plug-in driver if you use Mac OS X.
6.1.1 Installing the printer driver (PS Plug-in driver)

Start the Macintosh computer.

Insert the Driver CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
% Exit all running applications, if any.

Open the folder in the CD-ROM that contains the desired printer driver.
% Select a folder according to the printer driver, operating system, and language to be used.
% For OS X 10.7 or later, the CD-ROM icon may not be displayed on the desktop even though the CD-
ROM is inserted. In this case, the machine may have been set not to display icons on the desktop,
so you should check if the setting to display icons on the desktop is disabled by choosing Prefer-
ences from the Finder menu.

Copy [bizhub PRESS C7000 C6000PS.pkg] on the desktop.

Double-click the file copied onto the desktop.
The installer starts.
% To cancel installation, press [Cancel].

Click [Continue] following the instructions on the pages that follow until the [Installation] page appears.
% When the name and password prompt appears during the procedure, enter the administrator name
and password.

In the [Installation] page, click [Install].
The printer driver is installed in the computer. When the installation is completed, a message appears.
% For OS X 10.4, when the printer driver is installed for the second and subsequent times, [Install] may
change to [Upgrade].
