Black (K) Setting

[Black] specifies data handling way in the print controller when the print controller receives black data.

The Black settings are in the circle below on the Expert Color Setting window.

Pure Black Text / Graphic

Black Overprint

Select whether to reproduce black monochrome text and image in pure black or four colors (CMYK).

Printer's default

Default condition set by the administrator is used as it is.

Off

It outputs black that is reproduced in CMYK (each color 100%).
Select it when outputting gradations that include black areas.

On

It outputs black that is reproduced in pure black. When it is selected, you can achieve sharp
output result as color mis-registration, oversaturated text, etc. do not appear.

Select whether to overlap the pure black-defined texts/graphics on the color backgrounds or not.

Printer's default

Default condition set by the administrator is used as it is.

Off

When there are texts and graphics that are defined with pure black and have backgrounds, the
colors of the overlapped backgrounds are cut off.
Select it to avoid color overlapping.

On

Black texts and graphics are overlapped on the background colors. [Pure Black Text/Graphics]
is automatically set to On.

Text

When there are texts that are defined with pure black and have color backgrounds, the texts
are overlapped on the background. Gaps and mis-registrations between the texts and the
backgrounds can be avoided. Backgrounds of pure black graphics are cut off.

When there are texts and graphics that are defined with pure black and have color back-
grounds, the texts and graphics are overlapped on the background. Gaps and mis-registra-
tions between the texts/graphics and the backgrounds can be avoided.
