Print Variable Information Jobs
In this activity, you will print a set of personalized, double-sided promotional letters
sent to customers worldwide. Variable information files can include hundreds of
records.
The file used in this activity is a variable print specification file that contains:
• Variable text information:
– Name
– Customer type
– Points accumulated by each customer
– Destination name
• Variable images of the various destinations that are embedded in the job.
The file was created with the Darwin VI authoring tool. All the variable text and
image rules have been defined in the Darwin software.
You will also create a virtual printer dedicated to proof variable information jobs.
Through the virtual printer, you will print one black and white copy of the job. This
will help you make sure that all the information is correct and adequately placed on
the paper.
