Setting Up Run On Demand (ROD)

The ROD option automatically starts or stops pumps to meet the hydraulic flow demand from the system.
The PLC monitors the hydraulic fluid flow. When the flow changes beyond a trigger point for a set period of
time, one of the pumps is turned on or off.

Refer to the Auto Run table for a description of the controls referenced in the following procedure.

1. From the current screen, press the AUTO Setup button on the Main screen. When the Auto Setup screen

displays, make sure the Flow Meter indicator is in the Flow Meter Present state (blue-green).

2. Set the ROD Flow Buffer.

If necessary, press the associated value pushbutton to display the numeric keypad and change the value.
Press Enter to set the value and return to the Auto Setup screen. The range shown on the numeric keypad
depends on the number of pump modules installed.

3. Check the ROD On Delay.

If necessary, press the associated value pushbutton to change the delay time. Use the popup panel
described above to increase or decrease the delay.

4. Check the ROD Off Delay.

If necessary, press the associated value pushbutton to change the delay time. Use the popup panel
described above to increase or decrease the delay.

5. Check the Rated Flow Per Module.

This value should only require change if the HPU is provided with pump modules that have a different full
flow rating.

6. Press the Main Display button to return to the Main Display screen.

7. Press the ROD button to enable the run on demand option. The button will turn green.

8. Press the Pump #_ Enabled button for those pumps you want active for run on demand.
