6.4.3 Checking the Surge Arrester

Additionally required maintenance material (not included in the scope of delivery):
☐ A surge arrester testing device approved by the manufacturer of the surge arrester such as the PM20 by
DEHN + SÖHNE GmbH + Co. KG.
Procedure:
2. Open the inverter doors.
3. Check if ready indicators are tripped.
If ready indicators are tripped, replace surge arresters.
4. Use the testing device to check that the surge arresters are operational (instructions for testing are included in the
testing device user manual).
If surge arresters are defective, replace them.

• Switch off the inverter and wait at least 15 minutes it, until the capacitors have discharged completely.
• Disconnect the inverter (see Section 6.1).
