AIR CLEANER SERVICE
Using gasoline or flammable solvent to clean the air filter can cause a
fire or explosion. Use only soapy water or non-flammable solvent.

A dirty air filter will restrict air flow to the carburetor. To prevent
carburetor malfunction, service the air cleaner regularly. Service more
frequently when operating the generator in extremely dusty areas.
Operating the engine without an air filter or with a damaged air filter
will allow dirt to enter the engine, causing rapid engine wear. This type
of damage is not covered by the
Distributor’s Limited Warranty.
Remove the foam air filter from the
air cleaner cover.
Wash the foam air filter in a solution
of household detergent and warm
water, then rinse thoroughly, or
wash in nonflammable or high flash
point solvent. Allow the foam air
filter to dry thoroughly.
Use a screwdriver to loosen the latch
and open the left side maintenance
cover.
Unsnap the air cleaner cover clips,
and remove the air cleaner cover.
