There are a few conditions when the camera’s autofocus
system may not function accurately. At these times, you
should use the “Auto-Focus Lock” settings (
→p.27) or the
“Landscape Mode” setting ( →p.38). Conditions requiring
these settings include:
• A bright light source within the picture such as the sun near your
subject, a strong light reflection such as from water or from the
windshield of a car;
• A mirror or other strongly reflective surface near the center of the
picture;
• Shooting black light-absorbing subjects such as hair;
• Presence of flames, smoke or gaseous substances;
• Photographing through glass.
En los casos siguientes puede que la cámara no pueda
enfocar un sujeto. Estos sujetos deben fotografiarse con la
función “Bloqueo AF” (
→pág.27) o con el “modo paisajes”.

• Si cerca del sujeto que se desea fotografiar hay una fuente lumi-
nosa potente, como el sol, o hay luz reflejada procedente del para-
brisas de un vehículo, olas, etc.
• Si hay un espejo u otras superficies que reflejen la luz, como me-
tales, cerca del centro de la imagen.
• Si se fotografían sujetos de color negro, como el cabello, que ab-
sorban la luz.
• Si hay substancias gaseosas tales como llamas o humo.
• Si se está fotografiando a través de un cristal.
