Solutions To Common Problems

Odors In Refrigerator

Interior is dirty.

• Interior needs to be cleaned.
• Food with strong odors is in refrigerator.

• See Care & Cleaning Tips.
• Cover food tightly.

Opening/Closing Of Doors/Draw ers

Problem Cause

Correction

Door(s) will not close.

• Door was closed too hard, causing other

door to open slightly.

• Refrigerator is not level. It rocks on the

floor when moved slightly.

• Refrigerator is touching a wall or cabinet.

• Close both doors gently.

• Ensure floor is level and solid, and can adequately

support the refrigerator. Contact a carpenter to

correct a sagging or sloping floor.

Drawers are difficult to

move.

• Food is touching shelf on top of drawer.
• Track that drawers slide on is dirty.

• Keep less food in drawer.
• Clean drawer, runners, and tracks. See Care &

Light Bulb Is Not O n

Light bulb is not on.

• Light bulb is burned out.

• Freezer light switch is stuck.

• No electric current is reaching refrigerator.
• Control system has disabled lights

because magnet mounted behind dairy
compartment (in fresh food door) has

been removed.

• Control system has disabled lights

because one or both doors were left open

too long.

• Release light switch located inside freezer

compartment.

• See Problem section, Running Your Refrigerator.
• Reinstall magnet.


• Close and reopen door(s) to enable lights.
