4. Place the machinist square against the angled

edge of the headstock and draw a light pencil
line through the mark made in

Step 3.

5. Make a mark on the line made in Step 4,

towards the headstock edge from the line

Step 2 as shown in Figure 8. This

marks the center of the first peghole. This
mark should be parallel to and

angled edge of the headstock.

The headstock is rough machined to fit all six
tuners on one side. These instructions will guide
you through the placement of the pegholes. The
pegholes must be drilled slightly undersized so
that the bushings will be tight. Correct placement
of the pegholes will make the tuner installation
easier.

We recommend you read through the assembly
section to gain an overview of the process before
beginning.

To drill the pegholes in the headstock:

1. Center the nut in the nut slot and mark the

string slots on the fretboard with a pencil.
Make sure the larger grooves of the nut are
toward the top of the neck.

2. Remove the nut and align the leading edge

a machinist's square with either edge of the
nut slot. Use a pencil to extend the string
slot marks onto the headstock as shown in

Figure 6.
