OPERATIONS

Installing Bits

The Model H8217 uses drill bits with a 0 to

/

8

" diameter shaft. See the Grizzly catalog

or

www.grizzly.com for a complete listing

of available bits and accessories.

To install a bit:

1. DISCONNECT THE DRILL FROM

THE AIR SUPPLY!

2. Insert the chuck key into to chuck, as

shown in

Figure 2. Turn the key to

loosen the jaws enough to allow the bit
shaft to fit inside the chuck.

3. Insert the drill bit at least

into the chuck.

4. Tighten the chuck with the chuck key

by turning it clockwise. Verify that the
tooling bit is secure and will not pull
out.

Note: All three jaws inside the chuck
must grip the bit shaft evenly or the bit
may come loose when the drill is turned
on.

Like all tools there is potential danger
when operating this tool. Accidents
are frequently caused by lack of
familiarity or failure to pay attention.
If normal safety precautions are
overlooked or ignored, serious
personal injury may occur.

" NPT male quick connect

fitting to the air inlet plug.

2. Attach the drill to an air supply set at 90

PSI.

3. Hold the drill securely.
