Mounting Cleats

The hanging air filter may
fall and cause serious
injury if it is not properly
mounted. DO NOT fasten it
to sheet rock, press board,
paneling or anything other
than joists or studs.

The following describes mounting the hanging air
filter on the ceiling. Spacing for studs will be dif-
ferent and adjustments to the lengths listed here
can be made to accommodate hanging the unit
on a wall or at an angle on the ceiling.

The spacing for the mounting brackets on the
hanging air filter is 18" and 31" on centers. The air
filter must be attached to joists or studs. To do so,
attach cleats across the joist/stud and attach the
hanging air filter to the cleats. Please refer to

Figures 7 and 8

while following these instruc-

tions:

1.

If the ceiling has sheet rock or some other
covering on it, locate the joists with a stud
finder and mark their centers.

2.

Make reference marks on the joists or ceiling
for the cleat layout at either 18" or 31" cen-
ters.

To attach the mounting brackets:

1.

Attach one mounting bracket to each corner
of the hanging air filter using the 8 hex bolts
and the holes on the edge of the box. Make
sure to mount each bracket below the edge
of the box as in

Figure 6

. This will ensure it

is properly supported.
