MINOR ADJUSTMENTS YOU CAN MAKE

Surface Burner Air Adjustment Shutters

An air adjustment shutter for each surface burner
regulates the flow of air to the flame.

When the right amount of air flows into the
burner,
the flame will be steady, relatively quiet and
have approximately 3/4

sharp blue cones. This is

usually the case with factory preset shutter settings.

With too much air, the flame will be unsteady,
possibly won’t burn all the way around, and will be
noisy, sounding like a blowtorch.

With not enough air, you won’t see any sharp blue
cones in the flame, you may see yellow tips, and soot
may accumulate on pots and pans.

The air adjustment shutters set on the hood of the
valves and are positioned on the burner tubes by
friction fit.

To adjust the flow of air to the burners, apply a
blade-type screwdriver against the friction-fit shutters
and push to adjust the shutters, allowing more or less
air into the burner tubes as needed.

Air Adjustment Shutter

The air adjustment shutters for the oven and broil
burners regulate the flow of air to the flame.

Use a screw driver to loosen the air shutter screw.
Adjust the air shutter. Retighten the air shutter screw.
