TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Should this unit exhibit a problem, check the following before seeking service:
Symptom Possible Cause Solution
Cassette Player
No sound.
Function switch not set to TAPE. Slide to the TAPE position.
Volume at minimum. Increase volume.
Sound distorted. Dirty head. Clean the head.
Speed varies. Tape old. Replace the tape.
Cassette tape worn out. Replace the tape.
Cassette Recorder
Will not record.
Erase prevention tab removed. Cover hole with adhesive tape.
Distorted sound Defective tape or dirty tape head. Replace tape or clean tape head.

Compact Disc Player
CD Player will not play.
Function switch not set to CD. Slide to the CD position.
CD is not installed or installed Insert CD with label side up.
