The DCP501 has an advanced CATV set-top terminal that allows you to view cable channels.

The DCP501 must be authorized for cable TV operation by your cable TV operator before it will
tune channels.
To use your DCP501 to view cable channels:

to display

on your TV.

C A T V

and the last channel tuned are displayed

on the DCP501 display.

Press

MENU

to display the TV program guide on your TV.

Press

GUIDE

to display the television program guide on your TV.

Change channels by pressing

CHANNEL

/

PRESET

ST or making your selection with the

program guide on your TV.

If you receive an electronic message from the cable operator, the message icon

turns on.

You must use the TV program guide to retrieve an electronic message.

Additional DCP501 cable TV functions include CATV Record and CATV Channel Scan.

Using Cable TV Record

The DCP501 does not have record capability, but it allows you to watch one source like a DVD
while recording a cable TV channel on a VCR or PVR. This is known as the CATV RECORD
feature. The current listening/viewing source is always selected on the DCP501 front panel or
with the DCP501 remote control. The factory setting for the CATV RECORD feature is

icon turns on the DCP501 display to notify you that the record output source has been

manually set. To record Cable TV while listening/viewing one of the other sources:
