VIII Windows Hardware/Software Preparation
1. Review Checklist in Component Installation Guide: SAP ERP 2005 SR1 ABAP+Java
on Windows:IBM DB2 UDB for z/OS for base Software Requirements.
2. Certified Hardware is required for application servers. Current certified IBM
models are:
IBM eServer xSeries
IBM BladeCenter Servers
3. 3 GB RAM minimum (use sizing configuration recommendation)
4. Disk space requirements are in the manual SAP ERP 2005 SR1 ABAP+Java on
Windows: IBM DB2 UDB for z/OS manual.
5. Virtual Memory = 1X RAM + 8GB (see OSS Note 153641)
6. CD Drive
7. LAN connection to z/OS OSA-Express
8. English International Version of one of:
- Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition
- Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
- Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Edition
9.DB2 Connect
10. Windows Resource Kit is highly recommended.
11. If installing in a mixed environment (i.e. with AIX application ser vers) you will
need software such as SAMBA in order to share filesystems using SMB protocol.
