Subwoofer Adjustment & Use
Subwoofer initial control settings
• Set the LOW PASS FREQUENCY Control to its center
position
• Set the LEVEL Control fully counterclockwise to MIN. You’ll reset this
control after you make other adjustments .
Adjusting the Subwoofer controls
• Play a program on your system. Use a Dolby® Digital or Dolby® Pro-
logic signal, or a music CD. Adjust the Receiver’s volume control for a
comfortable sound level from the system speakers.
• Increase the Subwoofer’s LEVEL Control setting clockwise, so that you
hear the deep bass. Adjust the control for a
natural, musical balance that has plenty of deep bass sound when it’s
actually present in the music.
Troubleshooting
Subwoofer POWER Indicator LED does not light
• Check the AC outlet the Subwoofer is plugged into to be sure that it is
live. You can use a tester or plug in a lamp to check it.
• If the AC outlet is live, either the power cord or Subwoofer has a
problem. Unplug the power cord from the AC outlet and check the
fuse by unscrewing the center piece from the holder. If it is blown,
replace the fuse only with a fuse of the same type and rating. If this
doesn’t help, take the Subwoofer to your dealer for service —
THERE ARE NO USER-SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE.
• Listen carefully to bass voices and, if needed, adjust the LOW PASS
FREQUENCY Control so that they sound natural. Setting the
frequency too high will make deep voices soundly excessivley
“chesty” or resonant and will give the upper bass in music a “one-
note” quality. Setting the frequency too low will make deep voices
sound “thin” and will give the music a lack of “warmth.”
• Make fine adjustments until the program has satisfying and natural
sound quality on both bass voices and music.
No sound from the Front speakers
• Be sure the Receiver and Subwoofer POWER switches are in the ON
positions.
• Check the Receiver’s Volume Control setting — if it is all the way
down, there won’t be any sound.
• Check that the Receiver’s Input Selector is set to an active source of
audio signals and that a Tape Monitor Loop is not engaged.
• Be sure that the Receiver’s Speaker Selector switch is turned on to the
terminals [A or B, 1 or 2] that you have your Front speakers connected
to. If the Receiver has a headphone jack, you can use headphones to
check the Receiver for output.
• Check the wires and connections from the Receiver’s Front Speaker
Output terminals to the Subwoofer’s SPEAKER-IN terminals.
• Try removing the Subwoofer from the system, leaving your Front
speakers connected to the Receiver. If there still is no sound, take the
Receiver to your dealer for service.
No sound from the Subwoofer
• First, be sure there is sound from the Front speakers and that the
Receiver is working correctly as outlined above.
• Check the Subwoofer’s LEVEL control. If it is all the way counterclock-
wise, there may be no sound.
• The Subwoofer only reproduces deep bass sound. If the program has
no deep bass, the Subwoofer will not make any sound. Play a program
with plenty of bass, such as jazz or rock music, or an action movie.
• If everything else checks OK, take the Subwoofer to your dealer for
service - THERE ARE NO USER-SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE.

Limited Warranty
This warranty remains in effect for five years from date of purchase for
speaker components, one year on subwoofer amplifiers and electronic
components.
This warranty protects the original owner providing that the product has
been purchased from an authorized JENSEN dealer in the United
States. The original bill of sale must be presented whenever warranty
service is required. For warranty service outside the United States, con-
tact the authorized JENSEN distributor in the country where the product
was purchased.
Except as specified below, this warranty covers all defects in
material and workmanship.
The following are not covered: Damaged caused by accident, misuse,
abuse, product modification or neglect, damage occurring during
shipment, damage from failure to follow instructions contained in the
owners manual, damage resulting from the performance of repairs by
someone not authorized by JENSEN, or any claims based on misrepre-
sentations by the seller. This warranty does not cover incidental or
consequential damages. It does not cover the cost of removing or
reinstalling the unit. This warranty is void if the serial number has been
removed or defaced.
You are responsible for transporting your product for repair. However,
JENSEN will pay return freight charges if the repair is
covered under warranty.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other
rights which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow the
exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequentional damages or
limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above may not
apply to you.

We will promptly advise you of what action to take. We may direct you
to an authorized JENSEN Service Center or ask you to send your
speaker to the factory for repair. You will need to present the original bill
of sale to establish the date of purchase. Please do not return the
product to the above address, as it is not a service location. You are
responsible for transporting your product for repair and for payment of
any initial shipping charges. However, we will pay the return shipping
charges if the repairs are covered under warranty.
Su altavoz auxiliar de baja frecuencia JENSEN le da una sali-
da de sonidos poderosos y graves para que tenga usted una

La instalación y operación del Altavoz Axuliar de Baja
Frecuencia es igual a la de un sistema de sonido envolvente
del Teatro en Casa o a la de un sistema de música estéreo.
Este altavoz tiene su propio amplificador incorporado, de man-
era que trabaja con cualquier sistema de sonido. La red de
convergencia del Altavoz Auxiliar de Baja Frecuencia envía
solamente señales de frecuencia grave al amplificador incor-
porado. Estro permite que el Altavoz agregue más salida de
sonidos bajos a sus otros altavoces.
Por conveniencia, llamamos Parlantes Frontales a su sistema
de Teatro en Casa o a los parlantes principales de su sistema
de música. Llamamos Receptor a su receptor AV, a su recep-
tor estéreo o a su amplificador integrado.
Ubicación
Debe colocar su Altavoz Auxiliar de Baja Frecuencia JENSEN
en el piso, de preferencia en una esquina, para que trabaje
adecuadamente. En realidad el piso y la esquina son parte del
diseño del Altavoz.
Coloque su Altavoz Auxiliar en la esquina
más cercana a los componentes electrónicos
de su sistema para que los alambres y
cables sean cortos.
Controles y conexiones
Cable de Energía - Enchufe el cable de
energía en una salida de corriente alterna de
la pared o en otra salida de corriente que le
pueda dar por lo menos 200 vatios.
Interruptor de Corriente - Corta com-
pletamente el paso de corriente o pone el
Altavoz Auxiliar de Baja Frecuencia en la
función de ENCENDIDO AUTOMATICO. En
ENCENDIDO AUTOMATICO, el Altavoz per-
manece en el modo de espera hasta que
detecta una señal de entrada de audio,
entonces el Altavoz Auxiliar se enciende
automáticamente. Unos minutos después de
que la señal de entrada de audio desa-
parece, el Altavoz Auxiliar de Baja
Frecuencia vuelve al modo de espera.
Indicador de Energía LED - Este indicador
permanece no iluminado cuando el interrruptor de la corriente
está en la posición APAGADO. Está en ROJO luminoso cuan-
do el Altavoz Auxiliar de Baja Frecuencia está en el modo de
espera, y VERDE cuando éste está ENCENDIDO.
FUSIBLE 250V 2A - Este fusible protege contra fallas
internas y externas. Si el interruptor de energía está en la posi-
ción ENCENDIDO y el indicador LED de energía no está ilumi-
nado, desenchufe el cable de energía de la salida de corriente,
desenrosque la pieza del centro del fusible y revíselo. IMPOR-
TANTE - Si el fusible está quemado, repóngalo por otro que
sea del mismo tipo y del mismo voltage.
Terminales de Entrada y Salida de los Altavoces
Izquierdo y Derecho - - Vea la Opción 1 para Conexión.
Estos terminales son para hacer conexiones usando alambre
para Altavoces. Si usted usa esta Opción, no use la Opción 2.
CONECTOR DE LA LINEA DE ENTRADA - Vea la
Opción 2 para Conexión. Este conector es para usar cable de
audio en la conexión de entrada. Si usted usa esta Opción, no
use la Opción 1.
CONTROL DE FRECUENCIA DE PASO BAJO -
Ajusta el límite máximo de frecuencia para las señales de
audio que van hacia el amplificador del Altavoz Auxiliar de
Baja Frecuencia. Este control ayuda a ajustar el balance en
los tonos del sistema.
Control de NIVEL - Controla intensidad del Altavoz
Auxiliar de Baja Frecuencia relacionada con los Altavoces
frontales y compensa los efectos de la salida del Altavoz.
Conexión de su Altavoz Auxiliar de Baja Frecuencia
IMPORTANTE - Cuando haga las conexiones, asegúrese
de que los interruptores de corriente de todos los compo-
nentes, incluyendo su Altavoz, están en posición de APAGA-
DO.
Alambre para Altavoces – El típico alambre para altav-
oces tiene un par de conductores separados con cubiertas ais-
lantes que son juntamente amoldadas. Para conectar su
Receptor a sus Altavoces frontales recomendamos que use
alambre calibre 16 para Altavoces. Para facilitar las conex-
iones del Altavoz Auxiliar de Baja Frecuencia paralelamente
con los Altavoces frontales, el alambre para altavoces que
conecta el Receptor con el Altavoz Auxiliar puede ser más
pequeño (número de calibre más alto), ya que éste no con-
duce cantidades grandes de energía a lo largo de esos alam-
bres.
Polaridad - aislante de la punta del alambre para bocinas
a fin de que queden expuestos los conductores antes de
conectar con el Receptor, con el Altavoz Auxiliar o con los ter-
minales del altavoz.
IMPORTANTE - Conecte siempre el terminal rojo (+) del
Receptor al terminal rojo (+) del Altavoz Auxiliar de Baja
Frecuencia, y el terminal negro (-) del Receptor al terminal
negro (-) del Altavoz Auxiliar. Lo mismo es válido para la
conexión de las salidas del Receptor con las Bocinas frontales:
rojo (+) con rojo (+), y negro (-) con negro (+). Importante: use
la Opción 1 o la Opción 2, pero no ambas.
OPCION 1. Conexión con alambre de bocinas
La conexión con alambre de bocinas conecta los alambres de
salida frontal de las bocinas izquierda y derecha del Receptor
con la conexiones de entrada de las bocinas del Altavoz
Auxiliar de Baja Frecuencia. Conecte el canal izquierdo a la
entrada izquierda y el canal derecho a la entrada derecha.
Usted tiene la opción de conectar sus bocinas principales a las
salidas de la bocina B de su Receptor, si éste está equipado
así, o también tiene la opción de conectar sus bocinas princi-
pales usando las conexiones del Altavoz Auxiliar de Baja
Frecuencia. Este pasará la señal de audio a sus bocinas prin-
cipales, a excepción de los bajos graves que producirá su
Altavoz Auxiliar. Para usar esta opción, conecte sus bocinas
principales a las salidas izquierda y derecha del Altavoz
Auxiliar (vea ilustración 1). Asegúrese del cuidado de manten-
er la polaridad de señal apropiada, rojo con rojo y negro con
negro.
OPCION 2. Conexión con el cable de audio
Esta conexión usa una señal auxiliar monoaural de bajo nivel.
Generalmente esto se ve en receptores equipados con decodi-
ficador Digital Dolby®. En la parte posterior de su receptor
encuentre la salida que va al Altavoz Auxiliar. Mediante el uso
de un cable RCA estándar conecte la salida que va al Altavoz
Auxiliar que esta en la parte posterior de su receptor con la
Línea de Entrada que está en la parte de atrás del Altavoz
Auxiliar.
