Use SP-A130
1 Gently push the triangular mark on the battery
cover sideways to slide it off.
2 Insert two AAA batteries (not supplied) into the
compartment, paying careful attention to the
correct alignment of the
ª and · terminals.
3 Close the battery cover.
• Read the battery precautions thoroughly before use.

If SP-A130 comes out of the slider case ...
Put SP-A130 back into the slider case.
• Close the slider case while pressing down the
stopper on the back of SP-A130.
• Be careful not to pinch your fingers or hands
when you close the slider case.
If the stand comes off...
Reattach the stand to the slider case as
illustrated.
• Hold the connector film between the stand
and slider case when reattaching the stand.
1 . Extract the plug from its receptacle along
the cord with.
2 . Place SP-A130 using the stand.
• Do not pull the stand strongly; otherwise, the
stand may come off.
3 . Insert the plug into the headphones jack
of your portable audio player and start
playback.
• Turn the volume down on the portable audio
player to minimum before connection.
• Turn on the portable audio player after
connection.
• The plug of SP-A130 is a stereo mini plug.
When you use SP-A130 with a monaural audio
device, sound may not come out of the right
speaker.
4 . Turn on SP-A130 (the power LED lights).
• With the power switch set to PASSIVE mode,
SP-A130 can be used without batteries but the
volume will be reduced.
5 . Gradually raise the volume on the portable
audio player to the desired level.
• Do not raise the volume too high; otherwise, the
sound may be distorted.
After using SP-A130
1 . Stop playback of the portable audio player
and turn the volume down.
2 . Turn off SP-A130.
• To prevent the batteries from running out, be
sure to turn off SP-A130 as soon as you are
finished listening.
3 . Disconnect the plug from the portable
audio player.
4 . Fit the cord into the groove and close the
slider case.
• Fit the cord into the groove tightly.
5 . Close the slider case.
• See “Close” on the right.

Before you begin operating this unit, please read the operating instructions
carefully to be sure you get the best possible performance.
If you have any questions, consult your JVC dealer.
IMPORTANT
• Make sure to insert batteries in the proper ª and · positions to prevent
battery bursting, leakage, fire, injury and/or damage to the product.
• Danger of explosion, leakage, fire, injury and/or damage to the product if the
batteries are incorrectly inserted.
• Do not mix batteries of different types or new and old ones. There is a danger of
explosion, leakage, fire, injury and/or damage to the product.
• Discard leaky batteries immediately. Battery leakage can cause skin burns or
other personal injuries.
• Remove batteries when the product will not be used for extended periods of
time as the batteries may leak and cause a fire hazard. If leakage occurs, wipe
the battery compartment thoroughly before inserting new batteries. Wash
thoroughly with water if battery fluid gets on your hands.
• Do not heat, disassemble, short circuit, or throw the batteries into an open
flame.
• Batteries are not included in the package.
CAUTION
• Do not apply excessive force when attaching the slider case/stand or when using
it as a speaker stand; you might damage it or SP-A130.
• When removing the plug from the headphones jack, be sure to pull the plug
itself and not the cord.
• These speakers are not magnetically shielded, so do not place the SP-A130 close
to a TV as the colors on the screen could be affected. Similarly, do not place
watches, credit cards or other cards with magnetic strips, MDs, floppy discs,
audio or video tapes close to the SP-A130.
• Do not use or leave the SP-A130 in direct sunlight, near a heater, or where there
is high humidity. Heat and humidity can cause the unit to malfunction.
• Should the SP-A130 require thorough cleaning, use a mild detergent. Never use
solvents such as paint thinner or benzine.
• Read the battery precautions thoroughly before use.
• Place SP-A130 in a location which is level and stable; otherwise, SP-A130 may
fall over, causing damage or injury.

IMPORTANT
• Veillez à insérer les piles en respectant les polarités ª et · pour éviter toute
explosion, fuite et feu des piles et toute blessure et/ou tout dommage de l’appareil.
• Danger d’explosion, de fuite, d’incendie, de blessure et/ou de dommage au produit
si les piles sont insérées incorrectement.
• Ne mélangez pas des piles de type différent ou une veille pile avec une nouvelle. Il
y a un risque d’explosion, de fuite, d’incendie, de blessure et/ou de dommages au
produit.
• Mettez au rebut les piles qui fuient immédiatement. Une fuite d’électrolyte des
piles peut causer des brûlures de peau ou d’autres blessures personnelles.
• Retirez les piles lorsque vous ne prévoyez pas d’utiliser l’appareil pendant un
certain temps car les piles risquent de fuir et de provoquer un feu. Si les piles ont
fui, essuyez bien le boîtier des piles avant d’insérer de nouvelles piles. Lavez-vous
les mains à grande eau si vous avez reçu du liquide de pile sur les mains.
• Ne chauffez pas les piles, ne les démontez pas, ne les court-circuitez pas et ne les
jetez pas dans une flamme vive.
• Les piles ne sont pas fournies.
ATTENTION
• N’appliquez pas une force excessive lors de la fixation de l’étui mobile/socle ou
lors de son utilisation comme socle d’enceinte; vous pourriez l’endommager ou
endommager le SP-A130.
• Lorsque vous débranchez la fiche de la prise de casque, tirez bien sur le cordon et
non sur la fiche proprement dite.
• Ces haut-parleurs ne possédant pas de blindage magnétique, ne placez pas le SP-
A130 à proximité d’un téléviseur car cela risque d’affecter les couleurs de l’écran.
De la même manière, ne posez pas de montres, cartes de crédit ni aucune carte
avec bande magnétique, MD, disquettes, cassettes audio ou vidéo près du SP-A130.
• N’utilisez pas ou ne laissez pas le SP-A130 en plein soleil, près d’un chauffage, ou
dans un endroit renfermant une humidité élevée. La chaleur et l’humidité risquent
de provoquer un dysfonctionnement de l’appareil.
• Si le SP-A130 nécessite un nettoyage, utilisez un détergent doux. N’utilisez pas de
solvants, par exemple du diluant ou de la benzine.
• Lisez attentivement les précautions concernant les piles avant de les utiliser.
• Placez le SP-A130 dans un endroit plat et stable; sinon, le SP-A130 pourrait
tomber et causer des dommages ou des blessures.

IMPORTANTE
• Asegúrese de insertar las pilas en las posiciones correctas ª y · para evitar

una instalación incorrecta de las pilas.
• No mezcle diferentes tipos de pilas ni utilice pilas nuevas con usadas. Existe el
peligro de explosión, fugas, incendio, lesiones y/o daños al producto.
• Descarte inmediatamente las pilas con fugas. Las pilas con fugas pueden producir
quemaduras en la piel u otros tipos de lesiones físicas.
• Extraiga las pilas cuando no se proponga utilizar el producto durante períodos
prolongados de tiempo porque podrían producirse fugas de las pilas y crear
peligro de incendio. Si se producen fugas de las pilas, frote la caja de las pilas por
completo antes de insertar pilas nuevas. Lávese bien con agua si el líquido de las
pilas se ha puesto en contacto con sus manos.
• No caliente, desmonte, cortocircuite ni tire las pilas al fuego.
• Las pilas no vienen incluidas en el paquete.
PRECAUCIÓN
• No aplique una fuerza excesiva cuando instale el estuche deslizante/soporte o cuando
lo utilice como soporte del altavoz, ya que puede causar daños al mismo o al SP-A130.
• Para extraer la clavija de la toma de auriculares, tire de la clavija y no del cable.
• Estos altavoces no tienen protección magnética, por lo que no deberá colocar el
SP-A130 cerca de un televisor porque podría afectar los colores de la pantalla. De
forma similar, no ponga relojes, tarjetas de crédito ni otras tarjetas con bandas
magnéticas, discos MD, disquetes, así como tampoco cintas de audio o vídeo
cerca del SP-A130.
• No emplee ni deje el SP-A130 bajo la luz directa del sol, cerca de una estufa,
ni en lugares con mucha humedad. El calor y la humedad pueden causar mal
funcionamiento de la unidad.
• Si es necesario efectuar la limpieza a fondo del SP-A130, emplee un detergente
poco concentrado. No emplee nunca solventes como puedan ser disolvente y
bencina.
• Lea detenidamente las precauciones antes de usar las pilas.
• Coloque el SP-A130 en un lugar nivelado y estable; de lo contrario, podrá caer, y
provocar daños o lesiones.

Troubleshooting
Power does not come on.
\ Batteries are inserted incorrectly. Match the polarities
ª and · of the batteries.
\ Batteries are exhausted. Change both batteries.
No sound is heard.
\ The plug is not connected firmly. Connect the plug
firmly.
\ Batteries are exhausted. Change both batteries.
\ Playback of the portable audio player is stopped. Start
playback.
\ Sound from the portable audio player is too quiet.
Turn the volume up.
Sound from the speakers is distorted.
\ Sound is too loud. Turn the volume of the portable
audio player down.
\ Batteries are exhausted. Change both batteries.
Interference comes from the speakers.
\ SP-A130 is placed nearby an object generating a
strong magnetic field such as a TV, etc.
Move SP-A130 further away from them.

Gently push SP-A130
into the slider case.
• After extracting the plug
or inserting the batteries,
close the slider case
while pressing down the
stopper on the back of the
SP-A130.
ATTENTION
Be careful not to pinch your
fingers or hands when you
close the slider case.
Press your thumb on the grip and push SP-A130 out
as illustrated below.
• Do not open the slider case pulling SP-A130. Push SP-A130 out as illustrated below
using both hands.
