Excessively leaning trees
are under tension and
may split easely, causing
root end to rise up or be
thrown rearwards.

Felling Cut - Trunk Diameter More than
Twice Guide Bar Length.

1. Cut a large, wide notch.

2. Cut a recess into center of notch.

3. Saw around trunk with a pulling chain to complete

felling.

Felling Leaning Trees

IMPORTANT!

Always leave a hinge on both sides of center cut.

1. Make two notches.The tip formed where the notches

meet should point toward the felling direction.

2. Make the felling cut straight from behind, a bit at a

time.

This method will slow the fall of the tree and allow you
to get clear.
