When the vehicle shuts off after r eser vation m ode, the
NUSTART system w ill lock/arm the vehicle.
Take care to not lock your keys inside.
If you try to auto- start the vehicle when reservati on mode has
not been set, the auto-start f eature will not work.
When you press the auto-start button, the car parking lights will flash three times,
pause, then flash seven times.
In order to auto-start your m anual transmission vehicle, you must first set the NUSTART
system to Reservation Mode before leaving your vehicle. The purpose of Reservation
Mode is to leave the transmissi on gear in the neutral positi on when you leave your
vehi cle. Reservation mode is intended for use on MAN UAL TRA NSMISSIO NS ONLY
and NOT FOR AUTOMATIC TRAN SMISSI ONS. Reservati on Mode must be engaged
each and every tim e you leave your manual transmission vehicle in order to auto-start it.
Note : The system is not recommended for manual transmission vehicles with
r emovable or conver tible tops.
- Important requirements to activate Reservation Mode
- The transmission must be in the NEU TRAL position.
- The vehicle wi ndows must be rolled up.
- Do not set the reservation mode wi th people in the vehicle.
- Do not auto-start the vehicle with people inside it.
• Activating Reservation Mode ( MANUAL TRANSMISSION ONLY )
Step1 : After arriving at your destination, and B EFORE TURNING YO UR
ENGI NE OF F, place the transmission in the Neutral position.
Step2 : Activate the parki ng brake.
Step3 : Rem ove your foot from the f oot brake.
Step4 : Remove the key from the ignition, and the engi ne will r emain running.
Step5 : Exit the vehicle and cl ose the door within two m inutes after activating
the parking br ake. The engine will shut off and reservation mode for
the r emote starter is now compl ete.

- Canceling Reservation Mode
If you do not want to set reservation mode, shut off the engi ne before you exi t the
vehicle. The engine will shut off for the fol lowing reasons :
- Y ou did not activate the parking br ake or pressed the foot brake when you turned
the manual key to the off position.
- You released the parking brake while the engi ne was r unning.
- You entered Valet Mode after the Reservation Mode has been com pleted.

Reservation Mode (manual transmission only)
Trunk Release
Press the button until the LED on the remote stops flashing, in order to unlock
and release your trunk door. If pressing the trunk release button does not release
the trunk, you will need to release the button and try again, as the remote stops
transmitting as soon as the LED stops flashing.
Note that the trunk release function will not only release the trunk but will unlock the
all doors as well.

Panic Mode
Pr ess the button for 3.5 seconds to enter Panic Mode. In this mode, the car
will arm, if not ar med already, and the siren/horn will activate and the parking lights will flash.
In order to disengage Panic Mode, press the button until the LED stops flashing.
Then, pr ess the button for a 1/2 second to unlock/ di sarm your vehicle.
A n t i - g r i n d
The anti-grind circuit (an optional feature provided by your installer) prevents
you from engaging the starter on a remote-started vehicle.
Your vehicl e is now ready for auto-starting. However, the reservation mode will be
cancelled if a door or hatch is opened, or i f the NU STA RT system is put in Valet mode.
Once cancelled, you will have to start the vehicl e with the key and repeat the above
5 steps if you want to restore reservation mode.
Continuation Mode : (Stop and Go feature)
While your vehicle is running with your key, press the button for 2 seconds,
you are now in the continuation mode. Your engine will continue running for the
preset time even if you take your key out of the ignition. You can now lock/arm the
vehicle if you wish to.
Example : For a quick stop when you don’t want to restart the vehicle.
