Starting the recording mode

How to use the SCENE mode ( )

Use the menu to easily configure optimal settings for a variety of shooting situations including
portrait, children, landscape, text recognition, close-up, sunset, dawn, backlight, fireworks,
beach scenes, and snowscape.
Steps from 1-4 are the same as those for AUTO mode.
5. Select the SCENE mode by rotating the mode dial.
6. Press the ASM(Manual & Scene mode) button and use the

Left/Right buttons to select the sub menu.

7. After selecting a desired sub menu, press the ASM(Manual &

Scene mode) button or OK button.

8. The current scene icon is displayed at the top left of the LCD.
9. Point the camera towards the subject and compose the

image by using either the viewfinder or LCD monitor.

10. Press the shutter button to capture an image.

[ SCENE mode ]

NIGHT SCENE mode( )

This mode is used at night or against a dark background.
It is possible that camera shake will occur. If this is the
case, use a tripod to eliminate this.
Use the ASM, Up/Down/Left/Right buttons to select
Aperture Value and Shutter speed. Please see page 39 for
details on Aperture and Shutter speed setting.
