You can enjoy karaoke by singing along with the
selected input. Before operation, make sure you
have set the receiver to karaoke function.
Note
The karaoke function cannot be used when you select
Tuner FM/AM.

Turn INPUT SELECTOR to select the
input you want.

Press KARAOKE ON/OFF repeatedly to
select “KARA ON”.
The KARAOKE ON/OFF indicator lights
up and the karaoke function is activated.
Tip
You can also use the KARAOKE menu to
activate the karaoke function (page 25).

Turn MIC 1 VOL or MIC 2 VOL to MIN to
reduce the microphone volume level.

Connect a microphone to MIC 1 or MIC
2 jack.
Tip
You need to connect 2 microphones if you want
to sing duet.

Start playing the source and turn
MUSIC VOLUME to adjust the music
volume level.
For details, see “Adjusting the music” on
page 24.

Turn MIC 1 VOL or MIC 2 VOL to adjust
the microphone volume level.

Turn MIC 1 Tone knobs or MIC 2 Tone
knobs to adjust the microphone tone
level.
You can adjust microphone tone level in 3
bands
– Low, Medium and High.

Turn ECHO to adjust the microphone
echo effect.
To cancel the echo effect, turn ECHO to
MIN.
Note
The same echo level is applied to both MIC 1 and
MIC 2.
To cancel the karaoke function
The karaoke function will be canceled when you
do the following.
• Press KARAOKE ON/OFF repeatedly to
select “KARA OFF” (the indicator turns off).
• Set “KARA XXX” in the KARAOKE menu
to “KARA OFF”.
• Select another input.
• Turn the power off.
Notes
• You can use the MUSIC VOLUME knob and
microphone only when the karaoke function is
activated.
• If acoustic feedback (howling) occurs, move the
microphone away from the speakers or change the
direction of the microphone.
Adjusting the music
You can adjust the music volume level and
music tone of the selected input.
x MUSICXXX dB (Music volume level)
Lets you adjust the music volume level relative to the
microphone volume level. If the music volume level is
higher compared to the microphone volume level, you
can
– turn the MUSIC VOLUME counterclockwise to
reduce the music volume level, or
– turn the MIC 1 VOL or MIC 2 VOL clockwise to
increase the microphone volume level.
Turn MUSIC VOLUME to adjust the music
volume level to suit your preference.
Initial setting: 0 dB
You can adjust the music volume level from –10 dB to
+10 dB in 1 dB steps.
