Symptom

Cause or corrective action

“Connecting” is not

displayed when the

player is connected to the

computer with the USB

cable.

 The USB cable is not connected properly.

Disconnect the USB cable, and then reinsert it

straight into the port until it is firmly seated.

 A USB hub is being used. Connecting the player

via a USB hub may not work and is not supported.

Connect the USB cable directly to the computer.

 Please wait for the authentication of the

CONNECT Player software.

 Another application is running on the computer.

Disconnect the USB cable, wait a few minutes, and

reconnect the cable. If the problem persists,

disconnect the USB cable, restart the computer, and

then reconnect the USB cable.

 The battery is running low. Charge the battery

using the AC power adaptor (

page 56

).

 The installation of the CONNECT Player software

was not successful. Disconnect the player from

your computer, and reinstall the software using the

supplied CD-ROM ( “Quick Start Guide”).

Audio tracks registered with the earlier installation

will be available with the new CONNECT Player

installation.

The player is not
