Recording a CD

— CD Synchro Recording

The CD SYNC button lets you record from a

2

) tape, since the

system on.

The tape deck turns on automatically.

2

Press § on the tape deck and place
a blank tape.
Pressing § again closes the cassette
tray.

3

Place a CD in the CD player.

4

Set DIRECTION to A to record on
one side. Set it to a to record on
both sides.

5

Press CD SYNC on the tape deck.

The tape deck stands by for recording
and the CD player stands by for
playback. The lamps on ® REC, CD
SYNC, · (for upper side) and ∏ light
up.

6

Recording starts.

To stop recording

Press π on the tape deck or on the CD player.

Tips

• If you want to record from the reverse side, press

ª (for reverse side) so that the lamp on ª lights
up.

• When you record on both sides, be sure to start

from the upper side. If you start from the reverse
side, recording stops at the end of the reverse side.

• When you want to reduce the hiss noise in low-

level high-frequency signals, set DOLBY NR to
ON before step 5.

• If the tape reaches the end of its upper side during

dual-sided recording, the fadeout feature works so
that a track is not abruptly cut off at the end of the
tape (Fade Synchro). The track will record again
from the beginning of the reverse side.
The fadeout feature also works when you record
on one side only.

Note

You cannot listen to other sources while recording.

With the side you want to
record on facing upward
