OVER indicator

Adjust the maximum

level of the sound to

about –12 dB.

Press and hold 

 or 

 to change 

the sound level continuously. The 

sound level is also displayed as a 

number below the level meter.

Make other settings for recording

such as “LIMITER,” “LCF (LOW CUT),”

etc., in the menu.

Start recording.

 Press 

 (record/pause).

The operation indicator lights in red 

and “

” is displayed. 

You do not need to press and hold 

 (record/pause) while recording.

 Speak into the built-in microphone.

Press

(stop) to stop recording.

Tip

The settings you have set for the manual 

recording mode are saved after the recording 

is finished or the recording level is switched to 

settings other than “MANUAL,” such as “LOW  .” 

You can start the manual recoding with the same 

settings the next time.

Notes

In the manual recording mode, you cannot 

record with the VOR function (page 42).
In the manual recording mode, you cannot 

review the current recording, even if you 

press 



.
