Troubleshooting
Symptom Check
DVD • Check that the TV is set to VIDEO or AV.
• Check that the video or audio cable is securely connected.
• Change the “Dynamic Comp.” setting to “On”. This will turn up the
comparatively low volume level of Dolby Digital, which provides the most
wide, dynamic sound range.
Battery pack • Check that the DVD player is turned off.

• A hot battery pack may take longer to charge.
Wait until the battery pack is sufficiently cooled down.
• Replace with a fully charged battery pack or use the AC adapter.

temperature goes up to a certain level, you will not be able to
charge the battery pack.

• Recharge a different power pack. If the same symptom occurs, your
AC adapter may be defective. If the second battery pack charges without any
problem, your first battery pack may be defective or needs battery replacement.

Symptom Check
No picture • Check that the LCD display is turned on.
No sound • Check that the display panel is open. If it is closed, audio will not be output to the
speakers.
• Check the volume setting. If set to zero, turn up volume level.
• Check that the headphones are plugged into the PHONES and Audio jack. Speakers
cannot be used with the headphones.
No picture and sound • Check that the DVD player is in the DVD mode and not in the INPUT mode.
Distorted video or sound • Use a disc without scratches or dents.
• Check that external speakers do not jam the built-in speakers.
While in the input mode, • Check that the video or audio cable is securely connected.
no picture is output from • Make sure the S-Video cable is used for output only.
