In today’s business environment, companies must act
quickly and decisively in adopting networking solu-
tions that meet their needs while remaining within
their budgets. The new SMC TigerAccess VoIP is
designed for the SMB user, and brings a whole new
level of cost-efficiency to corporate communications
between and within an organization’s facilities.

The MGCP based IP G ateway provides network admin-
istrators great flexibility in migrating to voice, data,
video, and fax over IP -- anywhere in the world or just
around the corner.

The units have 4 or 8 voice connections, and provides
real-time voice processing through the use of high-
performance digital signal processors. It’s designed in

a client/server architecture to connect up to 32
remote locations with VoIP service. Moreover voice
compression mechanisms limit the amount of band-
width required in the IP network, and voice quality
and call control routing are suppor ted by standards-
based protocols.

Network administrators and service providers alike will
use the TigerAccess VoIP’s management features to
maintain full operability and integration with the rest
of the LAN. The device is easily accessed through the
VT100 system console, via remote control through
Telnet Web Browser. As with all telecom equipment, a
test access port is provided to support the mainte-
nance and diagnostic functions.
