THE ULTIMATE HOME THEATER LOUDSPEAKER

The Snell XA2900 is the highest performance front speaker

available for home theater installation. It brings together the

best of loudspeaker design, construction, and innovation to

achieve ultra high-end performance when built into dedicated

home theaters and screening rooms. I

Hand built in Snell’s wood-shop in Haverhill, Ma, the sophisti-

cated enclosure is fabricated using a unique multilayer process,

whereby a high loss polymer damping compound is sandwiched

between an inner cabinet and outer cabinet. The result is a

remarkably dense and non-resonant structure.

Featuring the eXpanding Array (XA), a unique driver arrangement

developed from months of computer modeling, the XA 2900

assures extremely flat response directed to the listening area,

while quieting the floor and ceiling reflections that bounce back

to the listener as distortion. These optimum dispersion charac-

teristics are enhanced by the use of the drivers chosen for the

$25,000 XA Reference Tower. Together they provide the maxi-

mum in output, power-handling, bandwidth, and accuracy.

The highly detailed crossover, also from the XA Reference Tower,

seamlessly combines all elements. Innovatively, four switches are

employed to “tune out” distortions induced by typical installa-

tion conditions. Notably, the Boundary Switch which tunes for

flattest response, whether the speaker is located in free space,

near a rear wall, or on the floor. And, the Upper Treble Switch

which accurately compensates for the loss of treble when

mounting the XA 2900 behind perforated film screens.

For the ultimate home theater speaker, nothing come close to

the XA 2900.

Available in both horizontal and vertical configurations.
