The screen suddenly turns
black

• When the screen turns black with “XEL-1” displayed on and off, the screen

saver is activated. Press

V/v/B/b,

or

VOL+/- buttons to return to the

previously viewed screen.

• If no operation is performed (such as switching the channels or adjusting the

volume control) for more than 5 minutes when the HDMI input is selected and
no HDMI signal is input, the HDMI input sign on the screen disappears and the
screen turns black. Press

V/v/B/b or

to display the sign again.

The TV Home Menu or
Settings menu suddenly
disappears

• When no operation is performed (such as switching the channels or adjusting

the volume control) for more than 2 to 3 minutes while displaying the TV
Home Menu
or Settings menus, the screen returns to the previously viewed
screen.

Ghosting appears occasionally • In order to protect the screen, the brightness of the screen is automatically

adjusted. When Auto Brightness Control is set to Min, prolonged display of
bright images may cause ghosting. In this case, select Max to reduce the
ghosting.

The screen fades to dark
gradually

• When no operation is performed (such as switching the channels or adjusting

the volume control) for more than 5 minutes while displaying still or motionless
images, the screen fades to dark gradually. Press HOME or OPTIONS to return
to the normal screen.

The entire screen moves
occasionally

• In order to protect the screen by preventing image retention, the display position

of an image is moved slightly after a predetermined time has elapsed.

Remote control does not
operate

• Check the polarity of the batteries or replace the batteries.
• Point the remote control at the remote control sensor located at the front of the TV.
• Fluorescent lamps can interfere with your remote control operation; try turning

off the fluorescent lamps.

• Keep the remote control sensor area clear from obstacles.

Some digital cable channels
are not being displayed

• Certain cable companies have limitations on the broadcast of digital cable

channels. Check with your cable company for more information.

• The digital cable channel may be set to Hidden in the Show/Hide Channels

setting (see page 37).

Lost password

• Select the Password settings on the Parental Lock settings, then enter the

following master password: 4357. The master password clears your previous
password and allows you to enter a new password (see page 38).

The TV becomes warm

• The TV may become warm depending on the way the TV is installed and/or

used. This is not a malfunction.

How to reset the TV to factory
settings

• Turn on the TV. While holding down

V on the remote control, press POWER

on the TV. (The TV will turn itself off, then back on again.) Release

V.

WARNING: The Reset will clear all of your customized settings including the
Parental Lock setting.
