AVOID SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH

• READ OPERATOR'S MANUAL(S).
• KNOW LOCATION AND FUNCTION OF ALL CONTROLS.
• KEEP SAFETY DEVICES (GUARDS, SHIELDS, &
SWITCHES) IN PLACE AND WORKING.
• REMOVE OBJECTS THAT COULD BE THROWN BY
THE BLADE.
• DO NOT MOW WHEN CHILDREN OR OTHERS
ARE AROUND.
• NEVER CARRY CHILDREN.
• LOOK DOWN AND BEHIND—BEFORE AND WHILE
BACKING.
• AVOID SUDDEN TURNS.
• IF YOU CANNOT BACK UP A HILL
— DO NOT OPERATE ON IT.
• GO UP AND DOWN SLOPES, NOT ACROSS.
• IF MACHINE STOPS GOING UPHILL, STOP BLADE
AND BACK DOWN SLOWLY.
• BE SURE BLADE(S) AND ENGINE ARE STOPPED
BEFORE PLACING HANDS OR FEET NEAR BLADE(S).
• WHEN LEAVING MACHINE, SHUT OFF ENGINE,
REMOVE KEY, AND SET PARKING BRAKE.

OPERATION

To Start Engine

ï Seat must be occupied.
ï Traction Lever must be in Neutral.

ï PTO switch must be off.

START

Clutch/Brake

Pedal

Parking Brake

To Set Parking Brake

ï Pull knob up while Clutch/Brake
pedal is depressed.
ï Release Clutch/Brake pedal
while holding knob.

To Release Parking Brake

ï Depress Clutch/Brake pedal.
ï Push knob down while
Clutch/Brake pedal is depressed.

When Operator Leaves Seat

ï Engine will shut off when Traction Lever is in
Forward or Reverse, or when PTO switch is on.

Traction Control

ï To stop tractor motion, fully depress the
Clutch/Brake pedal.

Traction Lever from Neutral, in either direction,
increases ground speed.

ï On Hydrostatic drive riders, movement of

PTO Switch

To Operate PTO clutch

ï The operator must be in seat.
ï To engage PTO, pull switch out.
ï To disengage PTO, push PTO switch in.
