Managing Messaging

Setting Up Voicemail

The first thing you’ll want to do after activating your phone is set up your
voicemail.

Knowing When You Have Messages

There are several ways your Sprint PCS Phone alerts you of new
messages:

By displaying a message on the screen.

By playing the assigned ringer type.

By the LED blinking red.

Message Types

There are two types of messaging features available from your
Sprint PCS Phone’s menu. You can receive voicemail and Sprint PCS
Messages (also known as page/text or SMS messages) as long as your
phone has enough memory to store them. If the memory is full, you will
be prompted to delete old messages to make room.

Voicemail

automatically captures calls when you can’t answer your

phone or it is turned off. The voicemail system sends a notification to
your phone when you have new voice messages or numeric pages.

Messages

include Sprint PCS Messages*. Sprint PCS messages are

received to keep you updated about current account information.

* Based on your service plan, additional charges may apply for this service.

New Voicemail Message Alerts

When you receive a new voicemail message, your phone alerts you and
displays

.

Important:

When you are roaming off the Sprint PCS Network, you may not

receive notification of new voicemail messages. It is recommended that
you periodically check your voicemail by dialing 1 + area code + your
Sprint PCS Phone Number. When your voicemail box answers, press

and enter your pass code.

Note:

Your phone accepts messages even when it is turned off. However,

you are only notified of new messages when your phone is turned on and
you are in a Sprint PCS Service area.
