A CompactFlash card must be inserted for the camera to operate. If a card has not
been inserted, “CF” will appear on the data panel and a no-card warning will be
displayed on the LCD monitor.

Always turn off the camera before inserting or removing a CompactFlash card
otherwise the data on the card could be lost, and the card may be damaged.

Open the battery/card chamber door by
sliding it in the direction indicated (1), then
open the door (2).

Insert the CompactFlash card into the card
slot until the card-release lever pops out.

• Insert the card so the face is toward the back

of the camera. Always push the card in
straight, never at an angle. Never force the
card. If the card does not fit, check its
orientation.

Fold the card-release lever down as
shown.

INSERTING THE COMPACTFLASH CARD

Fold the battery/card chamber door down
(1) and slide it slightly toward the front of
the camera. Then, while pressing down,
slide it back to the rear of the camera (2)
until it clicks.
