3.1 C onnect to a PC and do wnload audio fi les

(1) T o c onn ect it with PC fo r tr ans fer rin g fi les ,
Plug the larger end o f the USB cable to the
USB port of the PC, and plug the smaller
end to the USB port o f the player .
(2) When the icon appear a t the right
bott om of the PC scr een, double click
“My Comput er” on the desktop t o see a
remo vable disk which r epresen ts the new
player . Just use this r emovable disk as a
regular local disk, c opying fi les fr om or to it.
3.2 R emoving the pla yer fr om the PC safely
For Windo ws2000/XP:
(1) L eft click the icon a t the right hand
corner o f the taskbar.
(2) Click the pop-up mini-windo w with
message of “S top the USB Mass S tor age
Device – Driv e (X)”.
(3) When y ou are pr ompted t o remo ve the
device, pull out the pla yer .
For Win98, please mak e sure the da ta
trans fer is c ompleted be for e unplugging
the MP4 player .
3.3 Char ge the batt ery

it w hen yo u u se it f or t he fi rs t ti me. It tak es

NOTICE :
For maximum perf ormance, lithium-ion polymer
batt eries need to be used o ften. If y ou don’t
use the device o ften, be sur e to r echarge the
batt ery at leas t once per month.
13. trouBle sHooting
Problem Possible cause solution
The LCD displays nothing when
the device is started. Battery is too low. Charge the battery.
Power Switch is turn off Turn on the power
No sound when playing an
audio fi le. The volume is too low Adjust the volume.
Bad audio fi le. Delete or skip the fi le.
The player cannot be connected
to the PC. The USB interface is not supported by
PC’s motherboard. Update or replace the PC’s
motherboard.
The displayed time is changing
constantly. The bit rate of the MP3 fi le is changing
during playback. Try to use fi xed bit rate to compress
the MP3 fi le.
The PC has error when you plug
and unplug the player. The player is disconnected from the PC
abruptly while transferring fi les. Do not disconnect the player from
the PC when transferring fi les.
Total memory displayed on the
player is not in accordance with
the marked amount. Part of memory is used to store
programs and display characters.
Some of MP3 fi les cannot be
played properly. The MP3 fi le is compressed by a
standard, such as MPEG I Layer 1
or Layer 2 that the player does not
support. 1. Delete the unsupported MP3 fi les.
2. Use MPEG I Layer 3 standards
to compress the unsupported
MP3 fi les.
The TXT fi le cannot be read The fi le format is not supported. Skip it or reload another fi le.

12. Voice recording
> Record
(1) On the main menu, select “Record”, and press
the MENU button to enter the recording
mode.
(2) Shortly press the PLAY/PAUSE button to
start recording. During recording, you can
press the PLAY/PAUSE button to pause or
resume recording.
(3) Press the MENU button to stop and save
recording.
> Play recordings
To play the recording, switch to the MUSIC
mode, enter folder navigation mode, search and
play the recording fi le.
