PREMISES WIRING
The OUTBACK™ 185 is not recommended for
premises wiring. The OUTBACK™ 185 does not have
a combined 120/240 volt receptacle and cannot be
connected to a premises as described in other Lincoln
literature.
The OUTBACK™ 185 is intended only for backup,
intermittent use power. Certain electrical devices can-
not be powered by the OUTBACK™ 185. Refer to
Table A.2 for these devices.
CIRCUIT BREAKERS
Auxiliary power is protected by circuit breakers. When
the machine is operated in high temperature environ-
ments, the breakers may tend to trip at lower loads
than normally.
NEVER BYPASS THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS.
WITHOUT OVERLOAD PROTECTION, THE UNIT
COULD OVERHEAT AND/OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO
THE EQUIPMENT BEING USED.

CAUTION
PLUGS AND HAND HELD EQUIPMENT
For further protection against electric shock, any elec-
trical equipment connected to the generator recepta-
cles must use a three-blade, grounded type plug or an
Underwriterʼs Laboratories (UL) approved double
insulated tool with a two blade plug.
Never operate this machine with damaged or
defective cords. All electrical equipment must be
in safe operating condition.

AUXILIARY POWER RECEPTACLES
The control panel of the OUTBACK™ 185 features
three auxiliary power receptacles:
• Two 20 amp,120 volt duplex (double outlet)
receptacle.
• A 50 amp, 240 volt single outlet receptacle.

Through these receptacles the machine can supply up
to 5700 watts surge or 5200 watts continuous of sin-
gle-phase 60 Hertz AC power. The machine output
voltages meet UL standards and fall within ± 10% of
the rated voltage.
