Operation

Record function

The record function allows you to route a source signal to a recording device such as a
VCR or DAT recorder.

The record functions available on your EXOTIK are dependent on whether your unit
includes, or does not include the digital audio module (if your unit has the digital audio
module, EXOTIK+DA is shown on the front panel display when the unit is in standby
mode).*

The differences in record functionality between the two variants is shown below:

Notes on the sources:
NO SOURCE: No record path will be set.
AS KNEKT: When a record path on the EXOTIK is being used, this setting will allow users
of a KNEKT Line Driver system to change the source they are listening to (which also
changes the record path). To protect a record path, select the required record option.
Once recording has finished, reselect the AS KNEKT option.

*Analog is the only record mode available on the standard EXOTIK.

Notes:
The source audio signal is routed to either all of the analogue and/or all of the digital
outputs simultaneously. It is not necessary to specify which output you are using.

The available record modes are dependent on whether the input signal is analogue or
digital.

For reasons of copyright defence some audio and video discs incorporate protection
systems that prevent them from being recorded.
