Hitch and Shank Set-up

Position hitch straps
with large holes “A”
towards the front.

Attach channel brace (#3) and spacer (#5) to hitch
straps (#1 & #2) as shown with 3/4"-10 x 5" GR5 cap
screw (#7A), lockwasher (#9), and hex nut (#8). Do
not tighten hardware at this time.

Draw all six hex nuts (#8) up snug. Make certain hitch
pins (#4) are loose in their holes. If hitch pin is tight,
readjust hitch frames (#1 & #2) until loose and then
tighten all six hex nuts (#8) to the correct torque.

8.

Install 3/4" x 3 3/4" hitch pin (#12) to hitch straps and
secure in place with hairpin cotter (#13).

Shank Installation (Optional)

Shanks are shipped assembled when purchased with
Grading Scraper. Install shanks as instructed below if
purchased separate.

CAUTION

Keep your feet and legs out from under the shanks. They can
fall during installation causing injury to your body.

Before installing shanks (#15), attach Grading Scraper to
the tractor’s 3-Point hitch or raise front of scraper up and
support it with blocks.

1.

Remove shanks (#15) from shipping crate and insert
them into the front slots with tips pointing forward.

2.

Secure shanks with lock pins (#14) and
hairpin cotters (#11).

NOTE: See Section 2: Adjustments for shank depth.

Tractor Requirements

The GS25 Series Grading Scrapers are designed for
Category l and ll 3-Point hitches. Horsepower rating of
tractor should be between 40 and 90 hp.

Torque Requirements

Refer to “Torque Values Chart” on page 17 to
determine correct torque values of fasteners during
assembly.

Dealer Assembly

Refer to Figure 1-1:

1.

Remove linch pins (#10) from hitch pins (#4).

2.

Position hitch straps (#1 & #2) with large holes (A)
towards the front and mount large holes over end of
hitch pins (#4).

3.

Attach middle and rear holes in hitch straps to clevis
plates with 3/4"-10 x 2" GR5 cap screws (#6),
lockwashers (#9), and hex nuts (#8) as shown. Do
not tighten hardware at this time.

4.

Reinsert linch pins (#10) and snap wire retainer over
hitch pins to secure hitch pins.

5.

Attach channel brace (#3) to rear mounting lugs with
3/4"-10 x 5" GR5 cap screw (#7B), lockwasher (#9),
and hex nut (#8). Do not tighten bolt at this time.

IMPORTANT: You could loose steering control if
your tractor is too light. Refer to your tractor’s
manual to determine if additional ballast is needed.
