Section 4: Adjustments

Blade Pitch

Blade pitch can be adjusted by lengthening or shortening
the tractor’s top center 3-Point link. Increasing the blade
pitch will increase the blades digging ability.

Lengthen the link to increase blade pitch when grading
while traveling forward. Shorten the link to decrease
blade pitch.

The opposite is true if backfilling. Shorten the link to
increase blade pitch and lengthen the link to decrease
blade pitch. To help protect the 3-Way Rear Blade from
damage while backfilling, lengthen the tractor’s center
top link until the blade will move across the top of the
ground without forcing itself into the soil.

Blade Offset

!

CAUTION

The blade may come in contact with the tractor’s rear tire
when offsetting it to its maximum position and angling it in the
same direction to its most severe angle.

Manual Offset Adjustment

Refer to Figure 2-4 on page 13:

Frame offset has 15 adjustments up to 30" left or right.
(Center position, 7 positions right and 7 positions left.)

1.

Manually adjust frame offset by removing hitch
pin (#11) and moving inner link (#10) to a different
hole position.

2.

Replace hitch pin and secure with hair pin
cotter (#12).

Hydraulic Offset Adjustment

Refer to Figure 2-1 on page 10:

The frame can be offset hydraulically by as much as 30"
to the right or left.

1.

If the offset cylinder is controlled by the hydraulic
selector valve, make certain the valve is set to
operate that cylinder.

2.

Operate tractor control lever to change frame offset
by as much as 30" right or left.

IMPORTANT: Never fully extend hydraulic offset
cylinder or angle cylinder without first checking to
make sure blade does not interfere with tractor tires.
Damage may occur if blade makes contact with
tractor tires.

Blade Angle and Reversing

!

CAUTION

Avoid injury from falling blade. Always check to make sure all
hardware is secured properly before rotating blade.

!

CAUTION

The blade may come in contact with the tractor’s rear tire
when offsetting it to its maximum position and angling it in the
same direction to its most severe angle.

Manual Angle Adjustment

Refer to Figure 2-4 on page 13:

There are 15 blade angle positions up to 45 degrees left
or right. (Center, 7 clockwise, and 7 counterclockwise
positions.)

1.

Adjust blade angle by removing hitch pin (#5) and
moving inner link (#4) to a different hole position.

2.

Replace hitch pin and secure with hair pin
cotter (#6).

3.

The blade may also be rotated around 180 degrees.

a. Disconnect angling link from blade turntable lug.

b. Rotate Rear Blade clockwise 180 degrees.

c. Reconnect angling link to turntable lug.

Hydraulic Angle Adjustment

Refer to Figure 2-2 on page 11:

Adjust blade angle with angling cylinder by as much as
45 degrees clockwise and counterclockwise.

1.

If the angle cylinder is controlled by the hydraulic
selector valve, make certain the valve is set to
operate that cylinder.

2.

Operate tractor control lever to change blade angle
by as much as 45 degrees forward or backward.

3.

The blade may also be rotated 180 degrees.

a. Disconnect angle cylinder from turntable lug.

b. Rotate Rear Blade clockwise 180 degrees.

c. Reconnect angle cylinder to turntable lug.

IMPORTANT: Make sure angling link is properly re-
installed before using the blade.

IMPORTANT: Never fully extend hydraulic offset
cylinder or angle cylinder without first checking to
make sure blade does not interfere with tractor tires.
Damage may occur if blade makes contact with
tractor tires.

IMPORTANT: Make sure hydraulic cylinder is
properly re-installed before using the blade.
