How to pair most Bluetooth telephones with DEHͲP980BT, DEHͲP9800BT, *DEHͲP780MP, *DEHͲ

P7800MP, DEHͲP790BT, DEHͲP7900BT, *DEHͲP690UB, *DEHͲP6900UB, *DEHͲP590IB, *DEHͲP5900IB?

*CDͲBTB100 or CDͲBTB200 required

There are two options in pairing Bluetooth cell phones with Pioneer headunits. Most cell phones will work with either Option 1

or Option 2. We highly recommend trying both methods. If neither method works, unfortunately the cell phone will not pair

with the Pioneer headunit.

Option 1: Cell phone finding the headunit.

1.

Power on headunit and source to BT Telephone

2.

Press and release volume knob and select FUNCTION

3.

Turn volume knob left or right to CONNECTION OPEN

a.

Press and release volume knob to change status from CONNECTION WAITING to ALWAYS WAITING

4.

In the cell phone’s Bluetooth menu

a.

(This will vary due to different manufacturer’s, but please look for closest match, it might be under options

or menu) Select “new paired device”, “add device”, “add headset” “search for devices”, “etc”.

b.

Wait as the phone searches for the PIONEER BT UNIT

c.

After it completes the search, select PIONEER BT UNIT

d.

It will ask you for a password, enter 0000

e.

Select YES to authorize and select YES to connect to PIONEER BT UNIT

5.

From the headunit

a.

Turn volume knob left or right to SET PHONE, P1 (it should say NO DATA)

b.

Press and release volume knob to register phone to headunit.

6.

Congratulations you have successfully paired and registered cell phone to headunit!

Option 2: Headunit finding the cell phone.

1.

Power on headunit and source to BT Telephone

2.

In the cell phone’s Bluetooth menu

a.

(This will vary due to different manufacturer’s, but please look for closest match, it might be under options

or menu) Select “Bluetooth on”, “find me”, “discoverable” “always visible”, “shown to all”, “etc”.

3.

From the headunit

a.

Press and release volume knob and select FUNCTION

b.

Turn volume knob left or right to SEARCH & CONNECT

c.

Press and release volume knob to change status from SEARCH PHONE to CONNECTING

d.

Wait as the headunit searches for the CELL PHONE

e.

After it completes the search , cell phone will ask for Pioneer BT Unit password, enter 0000

f.

Turn volume knob left or right to SET PHONE, P1 (it should say NO DATA)

g.

Press and release volume knob to register phone to headunit.

4.

Congratulations you have successfully paired and registered cell phone to headunit!
