Sound field
Dolby Pro Logic is a decoding system that was developed to get a
better sense of presence from sources encoded with Dolby
Surround. The feeling of position has been improved by the addition
of a separate center speaker channel.
Software encoded with Dolby Surround can be identified with this
mark (DVD, CD, Video CD, Laser Disc, Video tape).

Play a Dolby Surround
source.
To cancel

Î PL] again.
[Note]
This does not work when playing multi-channel Dolby Digital.
If the level of the speakers appears to be different while listening to a
source, adjust the level of the speakers to the same apparent level.
Preparation
≥ Press [DVD/CD].
1 Press and hold [–TEST] to output a test signal.
Lch: Front left
Cch: Center
Rch: Front right
RSch: Right surround
LSch: Left surround
2 Press [VOLUME, r ] or [ s ] to set the volume level normally
used for enjoying the source.
3 Press [ 3 ] (to increase) or [ 4 ] (to decrease).
L, R: j 16 dB to 0 dB
C, RS, LS: j 10 dB to i 6 dB
To stop the test signal, press and hold [–TEST] again.
∫ To adjust speaker level during play
1 Press [CH SELECT] to select the speaker.
Lch > Cch > Rch > RSch > LSch > SWch

SWch: Subwoofer
≥ You can only adjust SWch if the disc includes a subwoofer
channel.
2 Press [ 3 ] (to increase) or [ 4 ] (to decrease).
L, R: j 16 dB to 0 dB
C, RS, LS: j 10 dB to i 6 dB
SW: j 10 dB to i 10 dB
Add surround effects to stereo sound.
Press [S.SRND].
Each time you press the button:
MUSIC
> MOVIE > OFF

≥ You can adjust the volume of the surround speakers to get the best
surround effect ( ➡ above, Speaker level adjustments).
[Note]
≥ Turn Super Surround off when playing a DVD recorded with Dolby
Digital or DTS. The surround effects will not be reproduced
correctly if this is left on.
≥ Dolby Pro Logic ( ➡ left) switches off.
