Precautions With CD-RW/DVD-RW Discs

This drive is able to read out CD-RW/DVD-RW disc data. The following items
may affect speed or compatibility.

The drive requires an additional short period of time to sense a CD-

RW/DVD-RW disc at startup when compared with a CD/DVD-ROM.

Since a CD-RW/DVD-RW signal level is lower than a replicated CD/DVD

disc, reading speeds are slower.

Blank discs, discs without data, and discs without a complete closing

process are invalid.

The drive may fail under the following conditions:

* dirty or scratched discs
* heavily rewritten discs

When Playing 8cm (3.15”) Discs

To play an 8cm (3.15”) disc, use an adapter designed for this disc size. Before
loading the disc, verity that it is securely in the adapter catches. If the disc is
placed in the slot by mistake, press the Eject button repeatedly until the disc is
forced out of the slot.

Use adapters marked with the standard logo (

) only. Avoid adapters that

cause the disc to idle or to flex.
