Preparation
• All peripheral components and cables are sold separately.
• Turn off all equipment and read the appropriate operating instruc-
tions.

Switch off the equalizer function (if there is any) of the portable audio
equipment before you plug into the MUSIC PORT jack. Otherwise,
sound from the speaker may be distorted.

Plug the audio cord into the MUSIC PORT jack.

Press [EXT-IN] repeatedly until “MUSIC PORT” is displayed.

For listening : Proceed to step 4.
For recording : Press [ ¶, REC] on the main unit to start
recording.

• When units other than those described above are to be connected,
please consult your audio dealer.
• Sound distortion may occur when you use an adaptor other than
the one supplied.

Press [ON/OFF] on the subwoofer (remote control:
[SUBWOOFER]) to activate the subwoofer function.

Press [LEVEL] on the subwoofer to select your desired
setting.
Each time you press the button:
SUB W MIN SUB W MID SUB W MAX
To turn off the subwoofer function
Press [ON/OFF] on the subwoofer (remote control: [SUBWOOF-
ER]) to select “SUB W OFF”.
Note:
This function is not applicable when a headphone is connected.
Enjoying surround sound Enjoying surround sound
Enable you to add natural width and depth to the stereo sound.
To activate
Press and hold [−SURROUND] to select “SURROUND ON”.
To cancel
Press and hold [−SURROUND] again to select “SURROUND
OFF”.
Note:
• Surround sound is less discernible when listening through head-
phones.
• If interference in FM stereo reception increases, cancel the sur-
round sound effect.
