55) W Side Status Request LD
Function: Returns information indicating the currently played back side.
Format: ?Z
Explanation: Returns the currently played back side in the following format:
W00 <CR> = Side A
W01 <CR> = Side B
The “Currently played back side” means the side being played
back according to the position of the pick-up. When the pick up
is at the bottom, Side A is played back, and when it is reversed, at
the top of the disc, Side B is played back.
This command returns W00<CR> when in Park Mode and Open
Mode. It will return the error “EO4” when a CD or CD-V is being
played.
Execution: * Current side Playing is Side B
?Z <C/R> W01 <CR>
* Player returns information that Side B is currently playing.
Note: The “Disc Side“ information returned in response to the Disc Status
Request (?D), indicates information on the side read, according to the code
recorded on the disc.
