MP3 and JPEG files

The RDV-1060 can play recorded MP3, VCD,
and JPEG files from most CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R,
and DVD+R discs.

These discs, often recorded on computer drives,
have a file structure similar to computer discs,
with files stored in folders.Selecting files for
playback and other features are made using
a special Smart Navi menu.

Smart Navi Menu

Whenever a disc containing MP3, MPEG or
JPEG files is inserted in the RDV-1060 or when
the PLAY/ENTER button is pressed, the
SMART NAVI menu appears:

SINGLE

On the left side of the menu is a list of folders
on the disc. When a folder is selected, the list
of files in that folder is displayed down the
right side of the screen. The single field at the
bottom right of the screen shows the current
play mode.

To move between the three areas of the screen
(folder list, track list, and play mode), repeat-
edly press the CURSOR

until the selec-

tion highlight is in the desired area.

To select a folder: Use the CURSOR
buttons to move to the left side of the screen.
Then, use the CURSOR

buttons to select

the desired folder.

To select a track: Use the CURSOR
buttons to move to the left side of the screen.
Then, use the CURSOR

buttons to select

the desired track.

Play Modes

The Play Mode field at the bottom right of the
SMART NAVI menu allows selection of numer-
ous play mode options.

To select an option: Use the CURSOR
buttons to move to the play mode field on the
screen. Then, use the CURSOR

buttons

to select the desired option from the list be-
low. Press PLAY/ENTER to begin playback.

SINGLE: Play a single track or image.

REP-ONE: Repeat the single track or image
continuously until playback is stopped by press-
ing the STOP button.

FOLDER: Play all of the tracks in the selected
folder.

FOLDER REP: Repeat all of the tracks or
images in the selected folder continuously until
playback is stopped by pressing the STOP
button.

DISC SCAN: Scan quickly through all of the
MP3 tracks or images on the disc, playing just
the first ten seconds of each.

DISC: Play all the MP3 tracks or images in
all of the folders on the disc.

DISC REP: Repeat all the MP3 tracks or im-
ages in all of the folders on the disc continu-
ously until playback is stopped by pressing the
STOP button.

RANDOM: Play all of the MP3 tracks or im-
ages in the selected folder in random order.

SHUFFLE ON: Play all of the MP3 tracks or
images in all folders on the disc in random
order.

PROGRAM & PROG-END: Plays selected
tracks or images in the order you choose. To
use program play:

1. Select PROGAM in the play mode field

using the CURSOR

buttons.

2. Press the PLAY/ENTER button.

3. Use the CURSOR

buttons to select

the folder or track list. Then, select the
desired tracks in the order you wish to play
them by using the CURSOR

buttons

to highlight the first track, then the second
track, then the third track, etc.

4. After selecting the desired tracks, press the

STOP button. PROG-END will be dis-
played in the play mode field.

5. Press the PLAY/ENTER button to begin

programmed play.

Additional JPEG features

When displaying JPEG photo images, the
following additional features are available:

SLIDE SHOW: Press the RESUME button re-
peatedly to select one of 11 slide show modes
that automatically display images. You can also
select RANDOM play or NONE (no slide
show).

ROTATE: Except in Zoom mode, press the CUR-
SOR

buttons to rotate the image clock-

wise or counterclockwise.

REPEAT: In addition to the repeat options de-
scribed in the previous section, press the REPT
button to cycle through the available repeat
modes.

ZOOM: To zoom a displayed image, press
the ZOOM button. Then, press the SEARCH

buttons repeatedly to make the im-

age progressively smaller or larger. In zoom
mode, the CURSOR

buttons move

the image in any direction to show the desired
area of the image.
