MOUNTING THE PHONE

Desk Mounting

Wall Mounting
(With or Without Wall Plate)

Set the volume for each line’s
ringer. Set to HI in a noisy
room or LO in a quiet room.
To turn off the ringer, set it to
OFF

. You can still make calls

with the ringer off, and you
can also receive calls, if you
hear another phone on the
same line ring.

Set to TONE or
PULSE

to match the

type of service you
have.

If you have pulse
(rotary) service, you
can switch to TONE
during a call to use
tone services.

Use a paper clip or other
pointed object to lift the plastic
cover off the number plate.
Then write your phone num-
ber(s) on the number plate and
replace the cover.

Note: Use a pencil in case the
number changes.

Press REDIAL to dial the
last number dialed (up to
31 tone or 32 pulse dig-
its).

Press HOLD to place a call on
hold. When the line’s red indi-
cator lights, you can place the
handset on the cradle. To return
to the call, press that line’s but-
ton or pick up any extension
phone on that line.

Press RESET to end a
call without hanging up
the handset.

Adjust the handset’s vol-
ume as desired.

Plug the handset
cord into the jacks
on the base and
handset.

MAKING A CONFERENCE CALL

1. Place a call to one of the parties.

2. Press HOLD to put the first call on hold.

3. On the other phone line, place a call to the other

party.

4. After the second party answers, press CONF to

connect all three parties.

To talk on only one line without disconnecting the
other line, press HOLD to put both lines on hold. Then
press the button for the line you want to talk on. To
return to the three-way conversation, press CONF.

To disconnect one line and continue talking on the
other, press the button for the line you want to talk on.

The green indicator next to
LINE 1

or LINE 2 lights to show

which line is ringing.

Use CONF to make a confer-
ence call. See “Making a Con-
ference Call.”
