DTMF (Dual-Tone Multi Frequency) tones
are those typically associated with the use of
your telephone. Your transceiver can
transmit up to 16 separate DTMF tones and
store a sequence of tones in up to 6 different
memory locations (d1 to d6). You can use
DTMF to transmit to a land-patch that is
connected to a telephone line. This also lets
you enable or disable certain repeater

functions, which is handy if you are involved
with repeater administration. You can also
signal to another radio equipped to receive
DTMF codes.
