ADJUSTMENTS

WARNING:

The sander should never be connected to a power
supply when you are assembling parts, making
adjustments, cleaning, performing maintenance,
or when the tool is not in use. Disconnecting the
tool will prevent accidental starting that could
cause serious injury.

Adjusting the Handle

See Figure 2.

Follow these steps to adjust the handle.

1.

Unplug the sander.

2.

Loosen and remove the handle by turning the dial
counterclockwise.

3.

Move the handle to the desired position.

4.

Tighten the handle by turning the dial clockwise.

Adjusting the Orbit Diameter

See Figure 3.

Follow these steps to adjust the orbit diameter.

1.

Unplug the sander.

2.

Press and hold the locking button.

3.

Turn the backing pad counterclockwise until the
button locks into position.

4.

Turn the backing pad an additional 180º until you
can feel the backing pad lock into position.

5.

Release the locking button.

Note: To determine the orbit of the sander, rotate
the backing pad counterclockwise with your hand
and look down on the sander from directly above the
motor housing. If you can see the red backing pad
top, the orbit is 1/4 in. (6.4 mm). If you cannot see
the red backing pad top, the orbit is 1/8 in. (3.2 mm).

Adjusting the Speed

See Figure 4.

Adjust the speed by rotating the speed selection dial. The
dial is conveniently located on the motor housing.

Follow these steps to adjust the speed.

1.

Unplug the sander.

2.

Choose one of these options:

Increase the speed: Turn the dial to a higher
setting.

Decrease the speed: Turn the dial to a lower
setting.

Recommended speed settings are as follows:
