Mechanical Kitchen Scale

Instruction Manual

3724-21

Thank you for purchasing a Taylor

®

scale. Please read this instruction

manual carefully before use. Keep these instructions handy for fu-

ture reference.

GENERAL WEIGHING OPERATION

1. Place the scale base on a hard, level surface. Place the weighing

bowl so that it is stable on top of the base unit.

2. The pointer should indicate "0" before objects to be weighed are

placed on the scale. To adjust the scale to "0", rotate the scale ring,

which has the measurement increments printed on it.

3. You may also use the scale ring to tare, or offset, the weight of one

ingredient before adding another ingredient to the same bowl. For

example, if a recipe calls for 1/2 lb. rice and 1/2 lb. beans, place the

rice into the bowl, then rotate the scale ring back to "0". Add the

beans until the pointer shows 1/2. Both ingredients have been accu-

rately weighed in the same bowl.

4. Carry the scale by holding the base unit. If the scale is relocated,

readjustment to "0" may be required. To do so, repeat steps 1 and 2.
