Speed Control

Speed Control

The speed control is located on the variable speed control

housing on the upper handle. This control is used to select the

forward speed of the mower. See Fig. 4-1 inset.
IMPORTANT: Move the speed control only when the engine is

running. Changing the speed control setting with the engine off

can damage the mower.

NOTE: The speeds noted on the speed control are not exact.

Speed will vary depending on belt wear, cable wear, and mowing

conditions.

Electric Start Ignition Switch

The electric start ignition switch is located on the right side of

the variable speed control housing on the upper handle. It is

used only for the electric starter.

Mulch Plug

The mulch plug is used for mulching purpose. Instead of

collecting the grass clippings in the grass catcher, your mower

has the option of recirculating the clippings back to the lawn.

Make sure that the rear discharge door is closed and the grass

catcher is removed from unit while mulching.
