PROBLEM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

FOODS DRY OUT

• Foods not covered, wrapped or sealed properly.

FRESH FOOD OR

• Temperature control not set cold enough. Refer to Temperature Control section.

FREEZER COMPARTMENT

• Warm weather—frequent door openings.

TEMPERATURE TOO WARM

• Door left open for too long a time.

• Package holding door open or blocking air duct in freezer compartment.

FROST OR ICE CRYSTALS

• Door may have been left ajar or package holding door open.

ON FROZEN FOOD

• Too frequent or too long door openings.

• Frost within package is normal.

MOISTURE FORMS ON

• Not unusual during periods of high humidity. To help prevent rust, wipe surface dry.

CABINET SURFACE
BETWEEN THE DOORS

MOISTURE COLLECTS

• Too frequent or too long door openings.

INSIDE

• In humid weather, air carries moisture into refrigerator when doors are opened.

REFRIGERATOR HAS ODOR

• Foods with strong odors should be tightly covered.

• Check for spoiled food.

• Interior needs cleaning. Refer to Care and Cleaning section.

• Defrost water drainage system needs cleaning.

• Keep open box of baking soda in refrigerator; replace every three months.

HOT AIR FROM BOTTOM

• Normal air flow cooling motor. In the refrigerator process, it is normal that heat

at these normal and safe operating temperatures. Your floor covering supplier
should be consulted if you object to this discoloration.
