Replacing bulbs

Position of rear bulb holder

Replacing rear bulbs

General
All bulbs in the rear lamp cluster can be
replaced from inside the cargo area.
Bulb specifications can be found on
page 233.
Location of bulbs
1. Brake light
2. Position/parking lamps
3. Rear fog lamp (one side)
4. Side marker lamps
5. Direction indicators
6. Reversing lamp

Bulbs in the rear lamp cluster

– Switch off all lights and turn the ignition

key to position 0.

– Unlock and fold down the side panel to

access the bulbs.

The bulbs are located in two separate bulb
holders, an upper and a lower. Each bulb
holder has a locking pin.
To replace the bulb:
– Detach the connector from the bulb

holder.

– Press the catches together and pull out

the holder.

– Remove the bulb.
– Fit the new bulb in the holder.

– Plug in the connector.
– Close and secure the side panel.
NOTE! If the error message "BULB
FAILURE"/"CHECK BRAKE LIGHT" remains
after a faulty bulb has been replaced then an
authorised Volvo workshop needs to be
consulted to rectify the fault.
